Multiple District Roles & Responsibilites


Council of Governors

The Council of Governors is made up of the District Governors from each district within a Multiple District. Led by the Council Chairperson, this group works together to coordinate district activities, support leadership development, promote Lions Clubs International programs, and help guide the overall goals and operations of the Multiple District. The Council of Governors encourages cooperation, communication, and service among all districts to strengthen the impact of Lions throughout the region.

Council Chair

The Council Chairperson leads and coordinates the Council of Governors within a Multiple District. This Lion helps guide district collaboration, supports leadership development, promotes Lions Clubs International initiatives, and encourages communication and teamwork to strengthen service and impact throughout the Multiple District.

State Secrtary

The primary purpose in having an MD-35 Office Manager (Secretary) is to direct and coordinate the administrative and financial aspects at the multiple district level; to carry out the directives issued by the Council of Governors, and to perform such other functions as required by both the Multiple District Constitution and By-laws and this policy manual. The Office Manager will work with all Lion leaders, but primarily with the Council of Governors in building and promoting Lionism through the multiple district. 

  • Constitution and By-Laws Special Standing Committee

    The Constitution and By-Laws Special Standing Committee reviews and recommends updates to the MD-35 Constitution and By-Laws to help ensure they remain current, effective, and aligned with Lions Clubs International policies. This committee works with the Council of Governors to identify needed changes, support proper governance, and help maintain consistency and structure throughout the Multiple District.

  • Diabetes Awareness and Action Committee

    The Diabetes Awareness and Action Committee works to reduce blindness and other complications caused by diabetes through education, early detection, screenings, and community outreach. This committee supports Lions clubs in promoting diabetes awareness, providing free screenings, supporting research and youth camps, and helping connect individuals with resources for early diagnosis and treatment.

  • Disaster Relief Committee

    The Disaster Relief Committee coordinates Lions humanitarian assistance efforts during natural disasters throughout the Multiple District and its districts. This committee helps train and support district disaster relief leaders, works with Lions Clubs International Foundation emergency assistance programs, and encourages organized, compassionate service that meets unmet community needs while cooperating with established disaster relief agencies and local partners.

  • Environmental Services Committee

    The Environmental Services Committee encourages Lions and clubs to protect natural resources and improve the quality of life within their communities. This committee promotes environmental awareness and action through projects focused on conservation, recycling, pollution prevention, wildlife protection, clean water, and other efforts that support a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.

  • Global Leadership Team (GLT) Coordinator

    The Global Leadership Team (GLT) Coordinator helps develop strong Lions leaders throughout the Multiple District by organizing leadership training, mentoring future leaders, and promoting leadership development programs. This Lion works closely with district leaders to identify training needs, support leadership growth, and encourage Lions at all levels to build the skills needed to effectively serve their clubs, districts, and communities.

  • Global Membership Team (GMT) Coordinator

    The Global Membership Team (GMT) Coordinator helps strengthen Lions clubs by promoting membership growth, new club development, and member retention throughout the Multiple District. This Lion works closely with district leaders and the Global Leadership Team to support club success, encourage engagement, provide training and resources, and help ensure Lions clubs continue to grow and effectively serve their communities.

  • Global Service Team (GST) Multiple District Coordinator

    The Global Service Team (GST) Multiple District Coordinator helps strengthen and expand Lions service projects throughout the Multiple District. This Lion supports district service leaders by promoting humanitarian service opportunities, encouraging collaboration between Lions and Leos, sharing resources and best practices, and helping clubs increase their impact through meaningful community service and advocacy initiatives.

  • Hearing and Speech Action Committee

    The Hearing and Speech Action Committee promotes programs and services that support individuals who are deaf or hearing impaired throughout the Multiple District. This committee helps coordinate hearing and speech conservation efforts, encourages public awareness and screenings, supports access to hearing aids and related services, and works with Lions clubs and community partners to improve the quality of life for those affected by hearing and speech challenges.

  • International Convention Committee

    The International Convention Committee coordinates activities and support for MD-35 Lions attending the Lions Clubs International Convention. This committee helps organize convention events, parade participation, meetings, housing coordination, and delegation activities while promoting fellowship, representation, and pride among the Lions of Florida, Bahamas, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao.

  • International Understanding and Cooperation Committee

    The International Understanding and Cooperation Committee promotes friendship, peace, and goodwill among people and Lions clubs around the world. This committee encourages clubs to participate in international programs, partnerships, and cultural exchanges that strengthen global understanding, foster cooperation, and support the mission of Lionism through service and fellowship.

  • Liaison Committee

    The Liaison Committee helps strengthen relationships between MD-35 and Lions around the world while promoting the growth and public image of Lionism. Made up of Past International Directors from MD-35, this committee supports international cooperation, assists with International Convention activities, and helps coordinate support for MD-35 candidates seeking International Office.

  • Long Range Planning Committee

    The Long Range Planning Committee helps guide the future growth and success of the Multiple District by developing long-term goals, evaluating needs, and supporting strategic planning efforts. This committee works with district leadership to strengthen Lionism, encourage continuity, and help ensure the Multiple District remains effective, organized, and prepared for future opportunities and challenges.

  • Public Relations and Lions Information Committee

    The Public Relations and Lions Information Committee helps promote Lionism by sharing district activities with both Lions members and the public. This committee supports club public relations chairpersons, encourages effective communication and community awareness, assists with publicity and media outreach, and helps ensure Lions programs, events, and service projects are well represented throughout the district.

  • Sergeant-at-Arms

    The Multiple District Sergeant-at-Arms assists with the organization and smooth operation of multiple district meetings, conferences, and conventions. This Lion helps maintain order and professionalism during sessions, assists leadership and guests, supports meeting logistics, and helps create a welcoming and organized environment for all attendees.

  • SightFirst and Sight Conservation Committee

    The SightFirst and Sight Conservation Committee works to prevent blindness, preserve sight, and improve the quality of life for individuals who are visually impaired. This committee promotes vision screenings, eyeglass recycling, public awareness, and support for eye care programs while encouraging Lions clubs to participate in projects that provide eye care services, education, rehabilitation, and assistance for those affected by vision loss.

  • Sunshine Committee

    The Sunshine Committee helps ensure care, compassion, and communication within the Lions family during times of illness, injury, or loss. This committee works with clubs, districts, and the Multiple District to respectfully share information according to the wishes of the family while offering support, encouragement, and concern for fellow Lions and their loved ones.

  • Used Eyeglass Procurement and Disbursement Committee

    The Used Eyeglass Procurement and Disbursement Committee supports Lions vision initiatives by coordinating the collection, distribution, and proper handling of donated eyeglasses. This committee helps promote eyeglass recycling programs, provides guidance on collection and shipment procedures, and works to ensure used eyeglasses are distributed through Lions-supported programs that help individuals in need receive access to vision assistance and eye care.

  • Youth Outreach Committee

    The Youth Outreach Committee encourages programs and activities that help young people develop leadership, citizenship, life skills, and a commitment to service. Through partnerships with schools, community organizations, and Lions programs such as Lions Quest, this committee supports positive youth development, drug awareness education, mentoring, and opportunities that inspire youth to make healthy choices and become active leaders in their communities.
